Spring type check valve gets its name from its "wafer-like" design, which is thin and disc-shaped. This design allows the valve to be installed between flanges of piping systems. The disc in the valve is the main component that moves to allow or prevent flow.

The Wafer Type Single Disc Check Valve consists of four main components, the body, a disc, a star guide and a spring. The Disc check valves are opened by the pressure of fluid and closed through compression spring as soon as flow stops thus preventing reverse flow.
