Q:PRESSURE - TEMPERATURE RATING FOR DUAL PLATE CHECK VALVE
The pressure and temperature ratings of the dual plate check valve shall comply with the values specified in ASME B16.34,
according to the applicable material specifications, class designations, and pressure ratings.
The allowable maximum working pressure and temperature of the valve depend on the body material and shall be indicated on the product nameplate.
If the valve incorporates special soft seals or internal components, these may affect the pressure-temperature limits, and the nameplate data shall take precedence.
For any given pressure rating, the corresponding temperature represents the maximum temperature that the valve pressure-containing body can withstand, which is generally equal to the temperature of the internal medium.
When the actual operating pressure does not correspond to the standard pressure rating for that temperature, it is the user’s responsibility to ensure suitability and safety.
If the operating temperature is lower than the minimum temperature listed in the ASME B16.34 pressure-temperature table,
the working pressure shall not exceed the pressure rating specified for that minimum temperature.
When the valve is used in lower temperature conditions, the user must evaluate the material’s toughness and impact strength at low temperatures to ensure safe operation.
